mhplus BKK achieves a milestone in its digitalization strategy with scdsoft and EPI-USE

As part of their desired digitalization strategy, mhplus Betriebskasse was in search of a new IT service provider for hosting, operation, and management of their SAP HCM application. mhplus BKK was looking for a provider who could meet the following requirements:

With EPI-USE Labs GmbH and scdsoft AG, mhplus Betriebskasse found two experienced and high-performing SAP and HCM experts who more than met the requirements. In just 5 months and within the specified budget, the migration of the entire HCM environment and the transformation of operations were successfully completed.

In the SAP HCM area, a completely new ESS & MSS landscape based on SAP Fiori technology was introduced. In addition to SAP standard applications (MyInbox, My Profile, time booking corrections, and employee queries), several scdsoft add-on solutions for vacation planning, overtime request, and a central certificate repository for employee documents were also implemented, providing greater convenience in mhplus’ daily operations.

Furthermore, scdsoft AG provides ongoing support to the HR department in the realm of SAP HCM Application Management, including the maintenance of the monthly payroll and other system adjustments.

The Ludwigsburg-based filter specialist MANN+HUMMEL GmbH established a company health insurance fund (Betriebskrankenkasse or BKK) exclusively for its employees in 1952, known as BKK MANN+HUMMEL. In 1999, this traditional BKK opened its doors to legally insured individuals outside the company as well. Since 2002, the open BKK has been known as mhplus Krankenkasse.

In 1999, the BKK started competing with other statutory health insurance funds with 11,885 members. Today, mhplus insures well over 500,000 people in Germany. Currently, approximately 1,000 employees work at mhplus Krankenkasse.

The transition was carried out on schedule within the planned budget framework and was almost unnoticed by our users. The high commitment and expertise of all project participants were key success factors. With the software solutions from EPI-USE and scdsoft, we have leaner, more efficient processes with a higher degree of automation. We anticipate that the investment will have paid off within the first year.
