What is scdsoft DMCT?
The scdsoft Data Migration and Conversion Toolbox is a flexible software that can be used for various use cases. The toolbox can be used for migrating from SAP ERP HCM to SAP HCM for S/4HANA as well as for carve-outs, system consolidations, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. It can also be used for internal company restructuring, such as the conversion of support structures or system consolidation or migration.
To meet the specific needs and requirements of each company, our scdsoft Data Migration and Conversion Toolbox (DMCT) offers various approaches to system transformation and SAP migration. SAP HCM Data Environment Analysis
- Evaluation of relevant system information and the entire data environment of the SAP HCM system.
- Generic search for tables (reporting procedure)
Conversion rules
- Through a greenfield approach for the ERP system, FI/CO is introducing a new nomenclature for company codes, controlling areas, cost centers, etc.
- This means that HCM data must be converted. DMCT offers a generic mapping table in which all values (including clusters) can be converted.
Migration of OM data as well as master and transaction data
- Migration of all SAP OM (Organization Management) data
- Similar to the data transformations for
PA, PY, and PT data, this also applies to OM data.
Schemes, rules, characteristics
- Migration and conversion of HCM-specific customizing to the requirements in the new target system (new nomenclature (see above))
Report variants and layouts
- Moving and converting existing report variants to the new nomenclature
- Layouts created for ALV outputs can also be converted to the new nomenclature.
Namespace detection
- Identification of all namespaces present in the system
- Search for third-party add-ons (readiness check does not detect all of them) and determination of the ATC check scope
Interface analysis
- Overview of all interfaces connected to the SAP HCM system
- Relevance:
- S/4HANA transformation (supplement/validation of the “integration” analysis in the readiness check)
- Migration and/or adaptation of existing interfaces for SAP HCM transformations, carve-outs, or migration to the cloud
- For RISE projects in particular, as communication is restricted (file system restructuring)
- SAP ILM (overview of where sensitive data is moved to/from)
