Cloud software for creating qualified employment references

Industry & Trends, Press, scdsoft Lösungen / 22.02.2023

An increasing number of companies are taking the leap into the cloud. With our scdsoft add-on solutions, we are also keeping pace with current and future trends. That’s why we have invested in the development of a cloud-based version of the scdsoft Reference Letter Creator.

Based on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP, formerly SAP Cloud Platform), we have successfully created a full-fledged alternative to the existing SAP ERP HCM on-premise version. Our cloud software can be integrated, for example, into an existing SAP SuccessFactors landscape (Employee Central module) but can also be operated as a standalone cloud solution if there has been no previous use of a SAP-based human resources management system.

SaaS operation on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

In the cloud version, we ensure operation and hosting as part of SaaS (Software-as-a-Service). Our software is operated on our behalf by SAP in a SAP BTP data center in Germany. As an end customer, you consume the software without additional effort in ongoing operation.

Possible system architectures

FAQ on possible interfaces and integrations:

  • Can be integrated into an existing SAP SuccessFactors / Employee Central landscape.
    • Live interface via OData API.
    • Export/import interface via HTTPS (OData).
  • The Identity Provider of the existing SAP SuccessFactors instance should be connected (SAML2), but SAP IAS (Identity Authentication Service) can also be used.
  • Integration with SAP HCM (On-Premise) via SAP BTP Integration Center or uploading employee master data through automated CSV export is also possible as a supplement to Employee Central data (see diagram).
  • Interfaces to non-SAP technologies are also possible (custom JavaScript).

In terms of content, the best practice functionality and user experience (SAP Fiori frontend – HTML5) of the existing on-premise version of the scdsoft Zeugnisgenerator remain the same.
